  1. Here’s a fun story for you. So I’m at my desk in the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) waiting for anything to do when my Maj came in. He looked at me and said “fuchfase, you’re up”. Typically people only call me by my real name when they want something, so I trotted after him wondering what a humble Senior Airman could do for such a majestic Army Infantry Commander. We walked across to another tent where his 1st Sgt was, it housed a platoon of the Army’s finest soldiers. A 1st Sgt is the enlisted person who doles out most of the discipline. If you haven’t served this would be like being c

  2. Some fun updates. Put about 9k miles so far, been a nice, efficient daily. Had to work in L.A. for a month and it did the trip twice without a fault. Met one of the maxima guys down there and bought his set of 15" ssr mk1's. Took some parts off the white maxy to fix the hideously crushed fender on the pass side. Not perfect, but better than it was. It wasn't easy to find a passenger marker light. Bought a 83/84 grill and painted it and the headlight surround black. Gonna have to redo it since it's not perfect. Threw on the

  6. Huge shout out to Stoffregen Motorsports for providing links to the cotter bolt options!!! Big thanks to debbheff and Coop for the info on the fulcrum pins and seals. When I get a chance, I'll link this thread on my site and post up the kingpin kits I have available. The shims I had on order came in yesterday. Since the cotter bolts are available thru Moss Motors, I'll be able to post up the kingpins soon, rather than waiting until I get them made.

  8. I was estranged from my parents and hadn't seen or spoken to them for 7-8 years. I sporadically contacted my brother and found she had passed away after the last time I called him two years previously. I immediately contacted my father and there after called him every week and visited him that summer and enjoyed 10 more years with him before he too passed away. Mom was a loving and giving mother but strong willed, over bearing and hard to deal with woman. I learned early that my opinion wasn't that important so discussions with her were never a discussion. I see now that dad lived in her shado

  10. I am 2nd or 3rd owner. I have had this for 34 yrs and suspect it has 4-500K on the bearings I am swapping frames due to a hole and converting a Longbed frame into a KC frame. Whoever owned the Cali donor frame must not have known about the threaded holes in the drum for removal. They bent the dogshit out of them

  14. Rest of the sound deadening done. Ran out right after doing the firewall, will need to get more for the doors when I do them. For those that have applied this stuff in the past (Noico brand, basically the same stuff as dynamat, fatmax, etc), is it alone enough for firewall insulation or will I want another layer of heat barrier stuff on top? Also dug out the vinyl kit I got for really cheap off a friend a while back to see what it contained, it has the transmission tunnel vinyl which is nice, I like the look of that over carpet. Bolts and tie rod ends ca

  16. Shirley Rogers took my crown away although she hardly 'took' it, as i was doing all the giving at the time. Does that really count if you are both virgins at the time? Doesn't that kind of cancel out?

  19. This is what happens when you don’t have a good production artist. I never would’ve let that happen. The other thing with bus art is placement of things on windows if you have someone’s head on a window at night when the bus lights are on inside the head disappears.

  20. Been needing a trash can for the backyard grilling/drinking area for a while but didn't want plastic or modern metal. This old military metal trash receptacle turned up as a curb find a few weeks back. I dug it but it needed something to make it stand out. Trash can was free and I've got $25 in decals so I feel pretty good.

  23. Do I have regrets? none that I know of. My brother called me once to tell me that dad had passed away. Could have called when mom was ill but didn't. Not like no-one knew my number. After dad passed about 12 years ago, I kept in touch with my brother for a few years but it was always one way. Oh, he sent me an e mail about a common friend and neighbor that passed. I replied with stories of good times and the last thing said was " we should talk more often"..... no reply. That was 6-8 years ago. So I've tried and I've done my part but not optimistic and it simply is what it is. Families are wei

  26. Finally got going on this one. First a router template... Then some 1/2" thick walnut... Got those two piece cut out and routed, then started on attaching them to the wheel. On the last wood wheel, there were some glue "stains" visible through the resin that I was pissed about. So this time I "glued" the two halves together with resin instead of wood glue... 😄 After it cured... Then some routing... Could not route where the spokes are

  27. Got the MS mostly installed. Little bit more interior wiring to do. The place I got it neglected to note that the tach output is not compatible with the 70-72 tachs, I was already eyeing a speed hut tach and GPS speedo so guess that settles that debate lol.

  29. During my testing to obtain my “flash” or job badge as a TAC-P I called in a bombing run at the Nevada Test and Training Range from this. I didn’t hear this air frame until the munitions were released. Then I had the shadow of it cross over me. It absolutely scared the hell out of me. I never called one in during combat actions. But this is what nightmares and UFO tails are made of.
