Still alive, just been adulting / buying wheels. After moving the blue truck to a friends, I built a carport -moved the green truck to it - and started hanging some of my sign collection. Also finally got around to installing the VW MK1 lip today. Now that the grump truck is around back I can push her around on the patio and tinker all I want. I think next step step or steps for this truck is painting the parts that were primer'd back to dragon green / putting on all the little OEM+ options I have laying around like gas door & lock / glovebox lock / 521 bumpers back on this one.4 points

Front half of chassis wth welded MX5 subframe in high zinc undercoat. Will paint black the the new year and install engine and gearbox so I can weld the mounts. Then the cab will go back on for firewall and inner wheel well modifications. At least it will look like a ute (pick up) again soon.4 points

DEI in the military is an oxymoron. DEI results in white males not getting the job because of preferential treatment of DEI folks. Which makes no sense in the military as far as serving - like the military would turn away white males LOL. I don't think DEI would put lesser qualified people in 30 million dollar fighters - maybe a transport hauling cargo. I don't get where you're tell me how I think. Anyone should be able to serve. I think women in actual infantry combat is a bad idea. If a woman is captured, she can be tortured to get the men to talk. And no matter what they say, men will risk more trying to help/save a woman in combat. Female snipers would be a better fit if they want to kill. And if actually in combat infantry, a woman cannot be the weakest member of the squad/unit - otherwise you are compromising the unit for the previous reasons. I don't know how our military does it, but I'd look hard at how Israel does it.3 points

DEI in the military was just part of the movement the left has pushed on us. Military is government and it had to comply with the woke agenda. There's no way it was a tactical move to scare our enemies. If anything it got us laughed at.3 points

The whole point of shooting is target - it is the only gun unto itself activity (and of course exhibition shooting). It is like drag racing or golf. If you want to kill people, it's the murderin' skills, not the gun. If you want to hunt, it's the huntin' skills. If you want to protect yourself from thieves when you take $20k in cash to the bank, it's business. If you are just interested in guns, it's target, plinking or collecting. I'm from Pennsylvania where in rural areas, kids in the 60's would take their 30'06 to high school with them so they could go deer hunting after school when in season. The movie Deer Hunter was made in Pennsylvania. PA might be the top gun hunting state - many people I knew when young would get their license and hunt deer. The young generation has no clue about guns and a lot else. They don't know what honor and bravery is. You can't believe how many young work hard to get clicks. It's like a nightmare out of Gulliver's Travels. When I hear some adult who never grew up with guns, learning how to treat them safely, decides to get a gun for "home defense," it makes me cringe. They have no clue what they're dealing with. Some never will. The Alec Baldwin set murder is Forest Gump stupidity. It's impossible to accidentally kill someone with a gun. Why? You only point a gun at someone you aim to shoot. Everyone knows that, right? LOL. A moron understands Treat a gun like it's loaded, right? I think Israel has a great idea: Everyone serves in the military. It sure would straighten a lot of shit out in this country.2 points

Thanks for the tip! Just ordered from Amazon. Locally, there are too many scalpers around here that finding them on the pegs is pretty rare. All the other ones in the set are usually left behind, it is this one that disappears rather quickly. I seems that anything Datsun/Nissan is usually the first to go!1 point

Seems hatred has been ingrained into her all her short life where she came from. Try letting that burden down and be thankful for a change or if not thankful at least humble and if not humble just STFU.1 point

That's a good one. Was checked a pistol at airport and the agent said she was so afraid of guns. I asked her if it was from what she saw on TV or experienced in real life. She actually paused to think and said it was the TV. If you live in the world of face-to-face reality, things are pretty good.1 point

Nixon, when VP, was on an ill advised tour of South America when mobbed in Venezuela. They just barely managed to escape into the American Embassy. Just months earlier the dictator Jimenez had been overthrown and was in exile in the US. Do ya think the population in Venezuela would be pissed? I do. But some idiot thought it would be a good idea to go there.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Richard_Nixon's_motorcade This was a time when the CIA were toppling governments and meddling in internal affairs in south and central America.1 point

I remember Eisenhower and Kruschev taking off his shoe. Don't know if Kennedy was a good president, maybe. Johnson I don't think so. Carter, wasn't he a nuclear engineer? Clinton, the Bushes, Obama nope. Raegan maybe, definitely popular. Biden no - which ever way the wind's blowing. I think the best president of all was TR and not FDR. Truman big no. The debate with Nixon & Kennedy: those who saw it said K won, those that heard it on the radio said N won. It's all show business. Name one great man in government.1 point

I know. It's really, really embarrassing. Especially when I travel outside the country. People really go out of their way to point out what an asshat he is when they realize you are American. I have no defense. They are right.1 point

Impressive - in PA Dr. has to fill out a form. Dr. is cool. Hates government. If I had to describe her, imagine an ex-Major in the Russian Army.1 point

I'm old enough now that (at least here in California) if I get a jury summons, I can call the court and excuse myself for medical reasons without a Dr's approval. I've been on a few trials, and there's always someone who completely confused, and over thinks everything. I've been in the service, and spent plenty of time sitting on trials. I really feel like I have done my fair share of service..1 point

1 - Vancouver is blessed with more moderate temperatures, beautiful scenery, and was very lax in housing restrictions for a long time. A primary result was the boon of foreign investors buying up property on speculation with no intent on ever living there. There are no gas stations in Vancouver proper as the value of the land overrode reasonable business models. I travel there frequently and absolutely HATE the traffic. 2 - I'm from Alberta (Oil-berta) and have guns for hunting. Some like my son-in-law are passionate about guns, others could care less. Overall, Canada has less gun culture than the US but there are many reasons behind that. 3 - No country is immune to stupid politicians, if we simply were to base the number of morons on population, well some places will inherantly win over others. Local, regional, or national. Heck, the population of California is greater than the population of Canada, so you could infer there are more morons in California. 4 - I despise social media and avoid as much as possible. IMHO, social media is an avenue abused by people who hide behind fake identities to spout off whatever trash they can think of. 5 - Nunavit actually here translated is because they have None of It. Let's make this #6 - Why are they so ungrateful to the countries they move to? Honestly, you chose to leave your home country because of the problems there. Don't come here and bring your problems - leave that crap behind and embrace the traditions and culture of the country you CHOSE to come to. If you can't do that, then go back and fight it out. Better yet, go back and SOLVE your home country problems.1 point

Subaru Forrester. I found them about three blocks away with the car hidden in the back. Giving them a chance to pay for it all before I press charges. I almost wanted it to be an asshole, but it was a sweet single mom who did not seem out of sorts. Also insurance was up to date. Glad I went hunting. Cops were not going to do anything.1 point

Frank, couple of comments on your Z32 brakes. 1. Take note of the pad material that is above your rotor and not on the rotor surface where it belongs. I have a design for a rotor adapter that elimnates this issue. And provides better braking. Eventually the overhang will cause some wierd pad wear and could cause the pads to hang up. 2. You are correct in that you were missing some of the brake hardware, but you're still missing more. I was just looking at this yesterday and ordered all the OEM hardware from Japan. Even with the high shipping its still cheaper than buying from the greedy dealers here stateside. $39 vs $110. The part number is 41080-40P26, the kit is comprised mostly of shims, likely for NVH abatment but there is also some very small spring clips that attach to the pins on one side only, I do not know why aftermarkets don't supply these.1 point
