  1. "ASK-uh, and ye shall RECIEVE-uh!!!!!!" Wonderful job, a righteous post, Logical One!!! I don't even need these, and I tend to get cranky about all the dross on the internet, but then a guy comes looking for info, and Bang!, a guy like you comes right back (well maybe after some searching in your notes) with the goods. Very cool!!!

  2. Another great race weekend! Started with some practice. Which got cut short due to a BMW money shifting which caused them to loose control and hit the barrier in front of a tower. They had to stop practice due to it. Then we did some super fun racing. Here is Carter getting the checkered flag and a second place finish! We didn't get enough points to podium but it sure was fun!! My boy found some friends and played in the dirt all weekend.

  3. I live in Michigan outside Detroit, and closer to Lansing (liberal state capitol). All the falsely sincere news people this week were talking about how Michigan hospitals are "overwhelmed", but the Johns Hopkins numbers still show ICU space across the state. Not saying it might not be higher than normal, but not overwhelmed.

I believe this is what you are looking for: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-76980-Window-Retainer-Assortment/dp/B000COBCAG/ref=asc_df_B000COBCAG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312429177733&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=731637726827539727&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033404&hvtargid=pla-623131094357&psc=1 They also make a tool to help put them on as it is a little tricky, but I have done dozens of times without the tool and just used a pair of needle nose pliars and a flat blade screwdriver. https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-76951-Window-Handle-Removal/dp/B000CO96VI/ref=asc_df_B000CO96VI/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312029767170&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=731637726827539727&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033404&hvtargid=pla-493179193878&psc=1

  9. @BrothersGarageYeah I like the idea of black leather/vinyl surround with blue/black hounds tooth inserts that would look cool. Cup holders would be nice as well. @banzai510(hainz) I threw it in the bed of my truck cause the spring fell out underneath the truck never to be seen again.

  10. I thought of that but you can't (I couldn't) measure across the back through fenders and oil pan. Also rubber? I don't think rubber tires are that precisely molded and then there are possible lumps or bumps. I like to measure in to the rim edge which is machined. My 710 is 4 to 6mm. 0.18-0.25"

  14. If you were to tell your doctor that you think that you really are a horse and want to be treated as such, he and your family would insist that you see a psychiatrist and get counseling help. Your best friend gets a saddle and the doctor says WTF are you doing?? Don't re-enforce his delusion by putting a saddle on him and riding him around!!! Are you crazy??? But it would be perfectly OK if he were to think he was a woman????

  19. I could always use a dead blow hammer to the end of the pipe wrench haha. But seriously, could I fill through the reverse sensor right next to the fill plug? I think, but am not sure, that I did this before.

  20. I sure hope you're right but I see you are in CA and not the Rust Belt. I think it's the salt: I know that with cars from WV where they do not use salt, you can remove brake line nuts like they were new even when severely rusted - in Pittsburgh where they use salt, rusted brake lines could never be R&R'd for a wheel cylinder replacement. The combo Studebaker used did not always work as intended. I believe what happened was the stud still rusted and the rust would eat up the clearance between nut and stud and then begin to further expand "locking" the nut. I do remember the studs pulling the threads out of the nuts. My solution in early 70's was Never Seez and steel nuts after a friend of mine turned me on to the product - he used it when maintenancing water treatment plants and raved about it. We'll know one way or another - I plan to do the job first of October when I can tolerate some downtime if things go sideways.

  21. Problem is, the pipe wrench i have is too big it seems. I might try a smaller one. If all else fails, hypothetically, I can fill through there right? Just trying to get it filled back up. I have some stuff to haul off still. Once winter comes, I won't be driving this much at all and that might be the time I start getting some stuff done on it. Figuring out if I'm keeping the napz, or going with a KA, and doing a lot of other stuff.

  27. Why are you changing the CVs? If the boots recently tore, I would consider cleaning, repacking, and new boots. OEM axles are a lot better than remanufactured in my experience...

  29. I had never removed the plug. So I have a dilemma. My fill plug is seized. I'm assuming it is a 18mm, since 17mm is too small and I do not have an 18mm wrench. Also, the corners are rounded. I'm a little screwed. Unless there is another way. I don't have a welder to welder a socket to the fill nut. I wonder if JB Weld could work.

  30. To check toe, I use 3ft long pieces of aluminum channel, and since I work alone, I bungee cord each one to each front wheel (horizontally, just below wheel centerline), then use a tape measure to measure the distance between the two behind the tire and then in front of the tire. Example - If it's 59" in the rear and 58.75" in the front, you've got .250" toe in.

  33. Well I can't edit myself out here either. I truly was threatened with a ban there for quoting myself. The Hot wheels collector site was very clunking years ago.

  34. Oh no, was it a quote, or just an old guy who didn’t know how to edit? Seems like you belong to the hypersensitive Hot Wheels forum. I’ll make it a point to not go there.

  36. Yeah - not sure what state you are in, but I would suggest moving to somewhere like lincoln Montana, where Ted Kazinsky was hanging out. Probably not much employ there, but at least you’ll be safe for awhile. When you refer to hanging bureaucrats and politicians personally gaining from the vaccines, we’re you referring to United States of America politicians, or those in Canada, Mexico, or some other country? Maybe all of them, so we can have freedom for everyone across the world? Either way, I’m with you.

  40. Continued on with door repair today. Got all the panels that I had made welded on properly and cleaned up. The new sections are bit wavy (the p/s especially) as they're just a single layer of metal at the moment, once the doors are off the car I'll obviously be welding a flange on the back and connecting them to the bottom face of the doors etc.

  41. Look for inspiration everywhere, but always do your thing. I'll admit though, I cringed when you suggested using a store bought shovel handle. This is only my opinion, but the lifeless consistency and brute force perfection of industrial production is the antithesis of objects hand crafted from natural materials. What makes your canes exciting for me is they're found on your walks in nature. Again my personal subjective opinion, for me even bending out a found stick's natural curve would feel a bit disrespectful. I think tuning in to find just the right stick, and celebrating it's perfect imperfection would be a more satisfying challenge. On mater what direction you take, please keep the picts coming.
