  2. I need to get out more. The arguments/insults, of the presidential campaigns are insight into different core values. Trump (actually Trump’s handlers) have positioned him and the America he champions, like an old truck. Yes, it is beat to hell and has many problems, but the values, (the bones) of the truck, are worth saving. The foundations/bones, like freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the Constitutional core, are strong. There have been breakdowns, but we have been able to address them. Biden (actually Biden’s handlers) champion an America, like a new (leas

  6. So... should we stain the wood purple or leave it natural? I've already bought the stain, I'm just wondering how many folks I'd be pissing off if* I go through with it. *And that word is, of course, pronounced "when"

  9. ........"fuck that guy" for selling the EXACT same, correct three rivet heavy duty pressure plate (kit) for $25 more than what you bought? Yikes, oh the horror!! 😣 🙄 I have never heard of that particular Exedy kit, but the listing DOES make it clear that it is a heavy duty pressure plate.........I have used quite a few Exedy clutch kits with no complaints! Good to know! 😎

  13. Thanks man it’s not for everyone 😂 ... The main reason for the Craziness was lack of Parts availability in the area And the rear portion of the frame was rotted As well as a lot of the body and a lot of the mechanical bits were shot so I didn’t feel too bad about chopping her up better than letting it continue to rot or get scrapped I guess

  15. Asian women do not age as fast as western women. My wife looks at least 15 years younger than she is and people all the time think I robbed the cradle even though she is only 1 year younger than I am. My 22 year old niece looks even younger than the girl in question. She is a school teacher that in a western school would be mistaken for a student. To me beauty is beauty and Asian women are some of the most beautiful! They are all not short and petite either, the lady that used to be my next door neighbor is 6'2" tall and her daughter went to college on a basketball scholarship and was one of t

  16. For many years the pressure plate to use was one from a 2000 roadster, 200 MM, about twice the clamping force. I believe it is no longer available, but looking for that one will be a good place to start. If you can find a L-18 flywheel for the 620 truck, that will give you a 225 MM five bolt flywheel, I am not sure how easy or difficult it is to find pressure plates, and disks for that setup. The collar that holds the throwout bearing has different heights to accommodate different heights of different pressure plates.

  17. NYT even says in the article that what he (Trump) did was 100% legit but saved it for the last few paragraphs knowing that the audience they cater to don't read more than the title or first paragraph.

  23. July 2020 - I never really liked the style of the Grant steering wheel that came with the truck. So one early morning when I got home from work I painted the center sections of the holes to make slots. At night looking through the window you see the chrome spokes and the black slots disappear. I found that I liked it so I cut the holes into slots. Then Painted everything. I am really happy with the outcome.

  24. June 2020 - I am installing an electronic distributor, ditching the points. I am going to use a GM HEI ignitor set up. So while doing wiring I decided to remove all wires not need anymore in the engine compartment. When doing this the grommet for the firewall the wires go through was not good. I decided to install a bulkhead connector. I filled the hole in the firewall. Yes my welds suck, I am not a welder. Drilled new holes. Mock up fit of the new connectors. Wires added. Also put in a relay/fuse box for a starter re

  27. There you have it. You have to click on it to be come offended, but having been offended the right course is not click on it again. Lord knows there are some offensive things on the internet and I'd be the last to deny someone the right to be offended by telling them they shouldn't be. Like pornography it should be the individual who decides for himself what is pornographic or offensive and avoid it if needs be. MikeRL411 and grannyknot have expressed an opinion and they have been listened to. I will say that compared to some places this is pretty tame.

  29. Yet more little stuff done, should be back on to the more meaty work soon though. With the undercoating gone, I welded up a bunch of holes and spot-weld marks: Not perfect, but good enough. Got the battery tray sitting level and all the captive nuts welded on: And bolted on. Pretty happy with how this went. There's enough play in the mounting holes I can probably put some thin rubber on the tray so it doesn't do paint damage when I'm putting everything back together for good. Will also make a future battery relocation super simple; I'll drill an extra hole for the cables

  32. One thing that my years building racing engines has taught me, if you want more HP, it's usually better to find an engine that already has that hp and swap it in. I am speaking in terms of street cars and trucks. Building any Datsun street engine to double the HP is never cheap and almost always results in a high maintenance, high strung experience. Yes, they can run great on the street, but it takes a lot of time and money to get there. A simple KA24E would be my choice for that truck. Bolt in and lots of aftermarket support. You could probably do the whole swap for $3500 or less.

  33. I received some 1/8" nylon sheet in the mail today and got to work on the shift boot. I made a rectangle ring for the top, and some securing plates for the bottom side. Screwed it in through the factory holes and done. Here is the final product:

  34. @mrbigtanker His name is Tim Gallagher. He owns Gallagher's heat and air here in NORCAL. He is in his mid 50's. He told me that he had a 521 in high school and now that he had the $$$ he wanted to do one the way he wanted with no $$$ limit. Must be nice.

  35. Here is the final product. Lowered each side about 1/2" and centered the mounts up so the engine sits in the middle of the engine bay. There were a number of cuts in the mounts from the previous owner to they could bend the mounts for the A14. I welded them up. That's why there are stray beads here and there. I ground them down a bit. Might do it a little more before I paint. We'll see.

  36. Spent the last two evenings modifying the transmission crossmember. I got it welded up tonight. I'm happy with the engine location and the shifter height. You can see my first weld was a bit hot, dialed that back a bit on the subsequent welds and they came out much better.
