  1. I identify as a cynical, abstentionist, Baby Boomer lapsed WASP, with external genitalia. For the record there are still two genders. If I told you that since birth I always though that I should have been a cat I'd be taken to a facility and have my head examined. The diagnosis would be "harmless enough delusion". If you are one gender and think you should be the other you are one of two things. You have a relatively harmless delusion or the most common... you are an attention whore.

  2. My mistake. I can't tell what are jokes and what is real anymore. Right now, there are people wearing masks and looting in the name of less freedom, there is a ex-reality show host as President and, out of the candidates, he is the best option. Supposedly, there are a ridiculous number of genders and judging people on their merits, not on the color of their skin is the new racism. If you traveled back in time 10 years, and told people of the coming future, it would sound like a bunch of bad jokes.

  3. Hopefully after Trump is reelected (the dnc will of course "find" boxes of ballots after the election, but when they find about three times more ballots than eligible registered voters, that will be just too big a blag for the average person to swallow, and it will bite them in the ass), he will re-enact the HUAC, as Dr.Savage has implored him to. Then these filthy leftist ruiners like Kate and Ted can play '5150 or Treason'. Either plead to deliberately going against the state and federal constitutions, or state that you belong in the laughing academy. Either way we win. The domestic

  6. 1/ First, the 510 521, 610 710 620 and the B-210 (probably lots of other) steering wheels are shit. For one they are too small a grip diameter for my hands. They may be fine for little Japanese hands but to me it's like driving and hanging onto a coat hanger wire. A long day of driving and your hands are sore and the next day all the fingers are stiff. So is it any wonder people replace them? Momo/Nardi/etc steering wheels are like $2,000 rims and tires on a $4,000 car. 2/ The stock diameters are also larger (no PS so there is more leverage) than the after market, I think, so it's

  7. Did another steering column test fit and this one is staying put. I cut a slit in the but as marked below, pushed it through from the cab side, then worked it into place. I was getting a little squeaking from rubbing on the shift rod so I fingered in a little grease. I'll dress up the steering column hole and slits with a little black RTV. I'm super happy with how it turned out. When I decided to pull my cab and bed off this piece of rubber and the wing window gaskets weren't available. I'm beyond thrilled to see these two parts come into existence. Huge thanks to Jake and Conner for helping m

  9. Indeed, and they got back to me pretty much immediately which was great. I have a set of the AE86 inserts on the way now, hopefully to arrive within a few days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haven't posted much progress for the last little bit; not because I've not being doing anything but rather that it's not been anything particularly interesting. Finished taking apart the rear CVs, removing rear springs, cleaning up the bushing seats on the rear LCAs, and going general cleanup. Back to more welding now though!

  12. This is a statement by Brown below, it appears someone had to find the person that killed this guy and it was not likely going to be anyone that Brown had control over, the guy that did this is one of the people destroying Portland and she appears to have taken their side, and so has Wheeler. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, blamed Saturday night's violence on the caravan and Patriot Prayer, saying the group and other self-proclaimed militia members drove into downtown Portland "armed and looking for a fight." Someone had to go after this guy and appears to have been

  23. Thankyou, I built the pond back in 1998, the rectangle pavers are to hold the liner in position, below are photos of the pond back in 1999/2000, I made the wood water wheel from scratch, it had a bench seat all the way around back then, I had such a terrible time keeping that wood water wheel turning, it was so heavy it went thru bearings like crazy, one day I came home and it had split in half, that is when I found that 4' wide wire cable reel at my friends house cut up for scrap, I got all the pieces needed from him and made the red wheel that exists today, I think I have only changed out on

"better" than what the eBay seller could do tools required: Welder lathe (mini will work, or 3d printer if you're feeling ballsy) angle Grinder. vice with anvil standard claw hammer materials required: ebay pack of 3 brake cables for nissan720 (i got a partial refund because they didn't fit i think i paid 15 for them 68 at full price) .5 ft .5in steel bar $5 .25 ft 3/8

  28. Whew, not enough time, and sanding takes a lot of time. During multiple days I have been prepping the valve cover as it was in quite a bad shape and I wanted to make it a bit prettier: I think it is quite ready for the blue paint. Need to prep the rest of the parts tomorrow. I'll try to paint these during this week if it doesn't start to rain or something. Then I can finally assemble the rest of the engine together!

  33. This is some work I have been doing on a dent in the left door. It is in the style line of the door, near the front of the door. It is very difficult to get a hammer behind the metal to pound it up. It would be nice to have a stud gun, to pull the area up, but I do not have that tool. I did pull the deepest area around the hole, by drilling the hole, and using a bolt, and a bar of steel, same way as I pulled some dents in the radiator support, post 204 on this, above. I took a a piece of 20 gauge sheet metal, and put two 3/16 holes in the center of the strip of metal. I bent the piec

  34. It has been a while since my last post, May is a busy month. I have been working on Dragon, mostly a little bit of time here and there. I did some metal work on the fenders, doors, test fitted headlights, and other minor stuff. This is what I am doing to the left door. the left door had a crack by the upper hinge, and several mirror mounting holes, and a fair amount of rust. This is the hinge crack. After cleaning the area of paint, primer, and rust, I put some bolts into the hinge mounting holes. this is to prevent weld spatter from getting in the holes. I also one of the bolts to bo

  35. Dragon also needed some more work on the right side of the radiator support, below the headlight. With the lower grill rail off the truck for painting, it is pretty easy to work on this area, and most of this area is just flat. However, looking down you can see where the support is bent in, above the front cab mount on that side. This is just a piece of steel, I am using the straight edge on it to show the gap where the support is bent in. I drilled this 3/8 hole, in one of the lowest spots in the core support. The piece of steel I used as a straight edge is then bolted to th

  36. After getting the inside of the left fender primed, I noticed some areas that did not get primer in to them with the spray gun. Next time I have some primer mixed up, a paint brush will get these areas. I have a small garage. Good thing I like Datsuns. Here I am getting ready to work on some Doors. This is the garage looking in. This is a picture for two metal saw horses I have with some plywood on them. My Dad made them, years ago. I put some plywood on them, and have a nice bench. I clamped this board on one of the rafters in the garage. OK, t

  37. Some work preparing the left fender for primer. I spent some time down in the front area cleaning rust, and dirt on the fender. I also cleaned the lower front edge. Still more work cleaning rust out of this area. And more cleaning. This is after priming, I need to get some more primer in the corner. Probably need to just use a brush to get primer where I want it. My camera is smaller than my head, I can take a picture of some places I cannot see. Some debris get into the fender, it was a windy day. I sanded this debris out, and still need to prime this area again. I

  38. I am not trying to make Dragon as a "show" or a pretty truck. I want it to be a functional truck. But thanks for the kudos, people. Dragon has had a hard life. It was involved in a front end collision when i was much younger, and I did repairs on it as I was learning how to do body work repairs. Later in its life, the right side was scraped by tail swing on a large box truck it was parked too close to. It also has a lot of more minor scrapes, dents, and other imperfections. It also got and is still being used as a farm truck. Some pictures from last Saturday April 14. I had just finishe

  39. Saturday, April 7, I did some repair on a bad looking weld. It did look like this, Now it looks like this. Today, Monday was warm and sunny. I decided to get some paint on some parts. I used a 3M Scotchbrite scuff pad, and scuffed the inside of this fender. That was to prep it for paint. I mixed up some grey paint, and sprayed the inside of this fender, and the inner fender on the right side of the truck. This is the inside of the right fender after it was painted. I also needed to paint the inner fender, this area. Picture was taken after painting the grey. Then I mix

  40. Paint update. When trying to get more paint , I found out that Dupont has been bought out by some company called "Axalta". Centari is pretty much not available any more. But the paint code numbers are still the same, I believe. Axalta paint code 31025 should still be 1970 Datsun Dragon Green, Datsun code 558.

  42. The one of the parts of the fender that still needed sanding. These are some of the tools I use to remove paint. Electric orbital sander. Nylox brush. These are at Ace Hardware, in the USA. They are made of Nylon, I think, with an abrasive embedded in the nylon bristles. The bristles will go down into shallow pits pretty good, and will remove rust too. You have to keep than moving, if you stay in one place, at too high of a speed, the metal will heat up, and melt the nylon. Keeping the speed slow also helps reduce metal heating The Nylox goes in a drill. This is how I contro

  43. I think it is going to be warm enough to paint soon. I have been sanding old paint, and primer off fenders, getting them ready to paint. I built this fixture a few years ago, for fender work. It is reversible to work on right or left fenders. This is the fixture from a more front angle. A view toward the back. In the front of the picture, is a sandbag. I put the sandbag on the fixture, or the fender to hold the fender in one place while working on it. I just support the back of the fender with some wood blocks. This is the fender after a lot of sanding, but not done yet.

My uncle was in one of these above during the war, he had a hole appear between his legs on one mission, he did not like talking about that part of his life. I like the DC3 also, but I like the ones above better.
