  2. Ok, time for the story of the wheels. As I previously mentioned, I am planning to convert the front to disc brakes, which require a 15"ร˜ wheel. Not wanting to break the bank, but also wanting to practice some DIY, I decided to get the cheapest new steelies I could find. $40 a corner later and: Black is kinda bland IMO, so some paint was necessary. I wanted to do something with a bit of old school cool and not clash with the seafoam green. First up, prep: Hit all the wheels with a scotchbrite pad and used alcohol to clean off any dust.

  7. I would suggest you put the timing cover on before the head, otherwise your going to have to drop the oil pan a little to get the front cover on, it will not slide in with the oil pan and head in position, the oil pan gasket gets in the way.

  13. Ya, I've got 2 balls out so far and 1 longer "pill" looking one, which came from the first 2 shift forks. The snap ring is an E clip and I've tried several times to get it off, but I just end up slipping and risk damaging the gears below it, which I'm really trying not to do ๐Ÿ˜›

  14. Speaking of switches.. neither the Acc nor Start stages test out on my Ignition Switch. Anybody ever repair these? It's a Niles part and I'd hate to replace it if I don't have to. I'm not seeing an easy way to open it up to check the internal electrics, though. If it can't be fixed, I'll just go with a push button for start and forget Acc for now. I reckon, though, that since the Acc and Start stages are dead the On stage may not be far behind...

  18. PO bypassed the headlamp switch, using two separate Toggles mounted on the aftermarket center console. Examining the factory Switch and the Fuse Block, I'm guessing this was subsequent to a prior issue where the headlamp circuit overheated damaging them both. I tested the switch with a multimeter last night and confirmed that the Headlamp stage was inop. There was a little minor melt on the switch wire for that stage and the slightest heat stress on the black insulator of the switch itself. Dissecting further revealed that the points on the headlamp side of the switch were heavily corroded

  22. The Podesta emails where definitely full of code words. My personal theory is it was for hard drugs and the whole child trafficking bit was a red herring thrown out by the involved parties to muddy the waters and make everything look like wild conspiracy theories. But let's not forget there have been actual huge sex trafficking rings involving famous hollywood people and it all kind of disappeared from the public's attention. https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/06/19/leader-of-cult-involving-hollywood-actresses-found-guilty-of-sex-trafficking-racketeering/ Rememb

  23. My 94 Buick Roadmaster has gone rouge, 261,000 miles might be the problem? Coworker told me one day it was making a weird noise, this is at work. I walked out and the horn is going off? Smacked the wheel and it stopped. Several day later I was at Taco Bell drive up and it went off when I was grabbing my future dump. Today the MFer went rouge for an hour before I realized what the hell was going on??? Does this fit the randomness?

  25. It's been a long time since I updated - mostly because I haven't been working on the project. Finances and covid-19 have put a crimp on project funds. I did pick up a pair of red rear side marker lenses since mine were amber. Took everything apart and wire brushed the rust out of the reflectors, rust converted it, then primer and then tried Rustoleum bright metallic spray paint. turned out okay, but not really chrome - so I won't use it to repaint the rear hatch vents.โ˜น๏ธ Anyone found a really good chrome paint? Here's the results: Just fine for the reflectors under the red

  37. you cam TIMING is fine. your distributor spindle is off look like a tooth. look at mikes photo. ez way to tell is put the dist back in and set it to the center of the timing plate and see where the rorotr points. if its off and you then rotate the dist to line it up then run out of adjustment then that's the proplem.

  38. Thanks, Daniel. Drove my 521 about 100 miles today with no brakes :[. Got to where I could work on it, adjusted all the brakes and bled all the air out of the lines. Stops nicely now. One thing to note...not all of my adjusters turn the same way to tighten.
