  1. Picked up a ‘71 521, similar to the ‘69 I sold a few years ago. It’s rougher, but more original. I’m barely going to do anything to it, aside from adding some “MoarLo” and painting the rims red. Oh, and keeping it running. I just want to drive the shit out if it.

  2. so more info daily to think about first when government is worried about mask shortages they say no need to wear it as time goes by now its a good idea as more time goes by some states mandate mask wearing if around anyone that has been tested positive you should get tested and some companies mandate this today i learned that someone i deal with at work his wife works in a place where someone got the virus so all were mandated to get tested appointments were made but not everyone went several people that didn't go to there appointment got test results back

The numbers are all kinds of fucked https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2020/07/17/are-the-numbers-on-a-surge-of-wuhan-coronavirus-numbers-being-cooked-n2572688 Relevant bit: July 15 The State of Texas today had to remove 3,484 cases from its Covid-19 positive case count, because the San Antonio Health Department was reporting “probable” cases for people never actually tested, as “confirmed” positive cases.- TDHS What other departments make this same mistake?

  9. Oh, I did one slight mod. The gearshift knob needs repaired badly, so I removed it to work on it. Then I put on a “souvenir” my dad brought back from Vietnam when I was a baby. Threads are a *perfect* fit. Wild.

  10. The roof rack is a period-correct Sears ski rack. Strangely, it is precisely the same kind I had on my ‘69. Picked it up from the person who bought it from Sears in the early 70’s, in the original box, with the instructions and key.

  11. be very very weary of Polling. Remember 2015-2016? Every polling matrix had Hillary up 20 points or more. But the smaller analytics had Trump winning the key states needed. Same smaller ignored data sights that got it right last time have Trump winning again. NYT even admitted their polling doesn’t reach the working class Americans because they have no inroads to the group. So they continue to poll Urban city and college campus missing the whole data pool by a large margin. There is a reason why media isn’t publishing primary counts for the re

  12. So now that Trump says wearing a mask is Patriotic and is our path to freedom, will Democrat’s refuse to wear them? Reading past comments here, I’d be led to believe they will refute and oppose whatever he says. Because they are not following the facts, just making him look bad right? Let’s see. I’ll be taking bets. the testing results comments above are disturbing and hard to believe. Not saying they are untrue, just hard to believe. Testing for us was pretty basic and easy. Pay, swab, wait, negative. Most of the issues I’ve seen, and there are many, have been at the

  14. Welcome to Ratsun, '61 is really old for a Datsun. The later 4 cylinder engines make better power, mileage and way lighter. The L six cylinder is a 'boat anchor' and too long to fit. If this is because you have an L24 handy don't do it for this reason. Find a KA24 in single or dual cam maybe an SR20 import engine from Japan

  17. Doesn't matter what anyone says there is always proof that it is bullshit these days. The internet provides back up proof for every possible fact and at the same time.... it's opposite. So pick an opinion and you are both verifiably right...... and wrong at the same time. What an age we live in.

  20. Hi All, was doing a head gasket chain on my 510's L20B and failed to properly retain the chain tensioner and came to find I could not reinstall the camshaft sprocket and to my horror realized the chain tensiner had come out. My mistake was not having inserted the piece of water hose all the way down. Anyhow, after looking at some images and videos online to get an idea of what was going on in there, we were able to get the tensioner reintalled w/o having to take the front cover off. to start off, here is a view of what you are up against To get the tens

  21. Gatorade bottle is ratsunesque, most folks use cheap aluminum beer bottles (Coors screw top) but the clear plastic makes sense. The solenoid for the fuse panel doesn't make sense to me unless there are circuits that have a constant drain. A fuse that is below the rating of the supply wire should be located as close to the battery as possible. Keep it simple and safe.

I don't know i don't have it.I don't know if the cold i had in January was it or not. That same cold messed my wife up for two weeks but didn't do shit to me.Frankly i don't give a shit about being tested because it does nothing to help me.I'm stuck home anyway because of this.I go out when i need to or when i want to.Nobody is going to keep me captive in my own home. And the biggest issue i have with testing is the deception,i'm not going to be part of it unless forced to.I believe we're being fed some bullshit. Some die with it but not from it and what do they list it as ? a Covid death. That's

  23. Trump has left it up to the states for quite some time.I have no idea why you think otherwise. Is he promoting re opening ? absolutely but that isn't forcing anybody to do anything. When has any Democratic state done what's been asked of him ? He's so outnumbered politically i don't know how you could even think he's the one making it this way.The left cried from the minute he suggested limiting travel to and from China.Sounds like it was the right idea at this point doesn't it ? Again,we've done what's been asked other than a few isolated areas of the country that don't have a problem.Look what

  26. Should be a 6:00 14 X 6 ply. Six ply are incredibly stiff sidewalls but intended for heavy loads. Terrible ride though. It probably has LT or passenger tires on it now to soften it. No red rims. Get a set of the stock chrome dog dishes and call it more than good. I had a 5 year old '71 back in the day.

  28. Hi Guys, i am very new to this, so please be patient 😀 I have purchased a very special little Pickup Truck, from research i think it's a PLG-222 as the age is 1961. We have decided to go to go to town with it! Complete renovation with added extras to beef it up a bit. We have a huge amount of ideas to go with, one of them being......putting in a Datsun 240Z engine inside....🤪 I just thought i'd share this with you all, and while the progress is taking place, i will keep updating you.

  29. This is a valid point. On every one of those kits I have installed, circuits have been re-purposed and/or stripped right out of the harness. This is also a valid point. I know it has John scratching his head over why I'm going that route on the Baja 1200. Well, the short answer is, "I dunno." and the long answer is, "IIIIIIIIIII doooooooooonnnnnnnnn't knoooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww."

  30. Okay, a little more helpful. Your 6 lug is 139.7mm (5.5") pcd, while most 4 lug are 100mm or 114.3 (4.5"). That means (a) you won't be using any of the original stud holes, (b) the hub is not conducive to redrilling since the back is not flat (only machined flat where the original stud heads land, and (c) the diameter of the bearings/hub is probably not conducive to the smaller 4.5" pcd.

  31. This is a very common problem on high mileage engines. Seems to be on about 80% of them I've seen. Conventional wisdom is a lack of oil changes. If you get gunk in the oil, it will make it's way to this spot and grind itself into the shaft. FWIW, I have had great success with cleaning them up with a fine toothed file. Just keep filing that spot until the rocker slides over it smoothly. It is very hard metal and surprisingly hard to screw up.

  32. Thanks! it's only metal after all, I can always re-do stuff again if I want but would rather save myself the hassle before it's all painted. Good idea, will definitely give that a shot! And yeah, definitely going to pull the head and pan to make sure there's nothing untoward and clean out any junk, then new bearings etc if it's all salvageable. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Got the firewall mostly welded back up. Ran out of welding gas, so finishing touches in a day or two, the on to the frame rail.

  35. Call it bullshit if you'd like. But I've seen countless demonstrations of countries with mask wearing cultures doing extremely well in comparison. The USA is simply not doing it. Despite rules and laws, they are not. It is not in the culture, and it is looked at as weird, and people are not doing it. Hawai'i had quite an easy time with it because we've grown up with masks being common on the streets and in stores simply based on the high percentage of Asian tourists and nationals. They wear them normally in cities as a courtesy to others. They should bring very little comfort. It does

Its become a competition in this nation and I am sick of it. When I had employees under my supervision I would get so pissed at the tit for tat finger pointing. I would say put your BS away or you're both fucking fired for just being involved. There is no fucking blame. Let this shit run and we will count heads when its all over.
