Description

Hello everyone I am looking for a Datsun 720 transmission FS5W71B, 2WD, short type AKA “stubby” or “stumpy” complete transmission. If you have the transmission~front sector of the tail shaft I would also be of heightened interest as well.

It must have and be the type with Z bell housing ~ front case is imperative. Lower miles the better prefer local in Arizona but willing to have shipped. It should read ZL71B #4 on the case. Thanks very much for taking time to look and any leads or information is appreciated.

 There is no 'shorty' front case. The Z series 4 and 5 speed long or shorty transmission front cases are all the same. During the Z series run, the front counter bearing was increased in size so from 1985 and after had 62mm holes and before that they were all 56mm. Low mileage is meaningless as there is nothing to 'wear out' on a front case.

Hello and greetings DatzenMike, I am aware of this (no differences on the bell housing as far as length, I do know of the angle difference from L vs Z).

I am looking for the whole transmission FS5W71B ZL71B #4 complete transmission, hence forth the request of low mileage.

King Cabs have the longer 71B while the short cabs have the stumpy~stubby, I considered 4x4 but no speedometer drive would be a bummer.
