WTB matchbox dizzy for L20b

If in California? you probably have a transistor electronic ignition on your '75-'78 L20B. Take the cap off and look. Does it look like this????.....

If distributor is missing then....

There were only three years the the L20B had the EI distributor and only two of them were actually the matchbox style. That would be '79 in the S10, A10 and the 620 and in the '80 720. Technically the '80 Z20S in the A10 and Z20E in the S110 200sx outside California emissions with single plug heads will also fit and work on the L20B. I've had and sold two of them and never had a complaint.

If you have an L20B then it's likely a pre '78? with points and being in California subject to emissions testing? Any of the above will work but all will have different advance curves and vacuum advance rates which can't help but mess with emissions. If emissions testing do they check the distributor is original?  

I suppose you could use the points distributor in for the test.

For best high voltage output you have to run with the matching matchbox coil. Any coil after '77 will be correct.

I probably have the 78 style.

 The earlier California EI (pictured)was the forerunner of the remote ignitor EI used on all other Datsuns in '78. Switched to the miniaturized matchbox for '79.
