A fuel pump is NOT included in this listing; Pump shown is for reference and kit-application identification.

Late last Fall I had several issues with the fuel system on the 320 pickup and decided to bite the bullet and put in a little work bringing the system up to a reliable standard.

Fuel tank was removed, cleaned, painted, and reinstalled. I located a handful of NOS fuel pump diaphram assemblies and valves and decided to make up a set of dies to blank out the filter screen and gaskets from new materials. After rebuilding my pump and running it for three months or so, I'm ready to make half a dozen or so kits available to other caretakers of these old vintage Datsuns.

The assembled pump in this listing is shown for reference to identify the pump that these kits suit and is NOT for sale. Included in the rebuild kit is the yellow highlighted items in the pic of the exploded pump from the parts manual and what is laid out in the photo with the yardstick. The pump-to-block gaskets are from old stock (Rockauto) and will be either Victor Reinz or Carquest brand. The gaskets that I fabricated are from Victor Reinz material. The upper screen is from 304 stainless material with a mesh comparable to the original bronze mesh. The screen is bonded between two gaskets into a simple to install assembly.

I will not guarantee the diaphram to be compatible for use with with ethanol gas as I didn't source the diaphram material but have no concerns with their use with non-ethanol fuel. Ethanol gas is a NO-NO for any machinery of ours except the wife's new Ford Edge. I'm almost certain that these are Nissan replacement diaphrams.

These kit will not work with the six-screw pumps that were used on later J-Series engines, only the five-screw pumps with a top cover with a diameter just under 2". Some of the five-screw pumps will have the priming loop and some will not. I believe this pump was used on the 320 pickup, some 410/411 sedans, and maybe early 520 pickups. I have no idea about roadsters. I am offering the complete kit with diaphram assembly, gaskets, and valves for $55. + $8. USD postage shipped to addresses in continental United States. For any other locations, the shipping will be at actual cost. I can offer the kit without the diaphram assembly and valves (gaskets and screen assembly only) for $12. + $3. USD postage in continental USA. The pics of the dies for the upper cover gasket, valve gaskets, and bonding fixture are included for gearhead entertainment.
