Help!!!!   I did a bone head move, I lost or threw out my old distributer mount pedestal, thinking my new distributer would come with one.  So I need a mounting pedestal for an L20B motor, I read somewhere they might be different than other L series motors.  If not any will do?

there are two or three pedestals used by L20B. It depends on which distributor you want to use:

 

* points distributor pedestal

* matchbox distributor pedestal type A

* matchbox distributor pedestal type B

I Purchased a Boursin Electronic ignition distributer, I'm not sure what a matchbox Distributer is.

I have a couple but I don't know what they are... possibly from an L16...

I don't know if that matters if they are the same or not....

If you see one you like let me know...

I dont know what the difference is if there is any, but if I discover these will work how much do you want for a pedestal?

Probably only like $15 plus the shipping ...

You should also look at a couple posts from hainz... I think he just bought that distributor and had some issues securing them to the pedestal...

I think one is in the electrical section and the other in the main general page..

Any 4cyl or 6cyl L series pedestal & matching degree plate will fit, but each of these pedestals will "clock" your distributor differently, thus you must calculate where to position the dizzy by degree & setting the timing!  As long as you understand how all of this works, you should be able to use whatever you get!  My box on my shelf also shows THREE different L20B pedestals.  Does this Boursin dizzy give you a year range for the 620?  Or for the L20B?  That might narrow it down to which pedestal they suggest.............??

It did not list a year for the distributer. but I'm pretty safe with any pedestal I use as long I understand the timing
