Description

Would like a good used or new hood release cable complete with interior bracket and handle. For my 1972 510 wagon (LHD).

 

All the online cables seem to be from Thailand and are RHD and look very cheap/flimsy.

Correct, the RHD assemblies do NOT work on our LHD cars.................the mounting bracket/handle is opposite.  I've wondered if you could buy one of those & swap over the cable assembly to our mounting bracket/handle..........??  But, if you have our LHD bracket/handle, with a bad cable, hit up a bicycle shop & buy a length of cable, then create a loop at the handle end to attach.

 

If you don't have the bracket/handle assembly, PM me, I will have one with a bad cable or no cable.

You can use a RHD hood release on a LHD car but it won’t be original. A 510 I bought came with one. Has to mount with the handle facing up instead of down and drill new holes to fasten it but it does work. 
Agree with repairing the RHD one is better but not everyone is capable of doing it.
