A sump is a low area that collects liquids. This is a singe sump oil pan (could be called a mid sump pan to clear the cross members at the front and the steering in the rear probably from a  Datsun car. If you know what it's from mention it as every car is different and this is unlikely to fit. Trucks have rear sump pans and are very shallow at the front to clear steering and cross member.

Good point.  Its been a long time since i bought it, but i believe it came out of '68 510.  The sump should also be compatible for anyone doing L motor swap into a b210
