Description

Looking for a thermostat housing for my 78 620 w/ l20b. I see some for sale but with the 3 screw cover and less threaded bungs. One of the threads for my cover screws are broken off/damaged. Thanks!

Recommended Questions

All '79 L series engines (A10, S10, 620 and '80 720 had the 3 bolt tops including the 280zx and the 810 Maxima. If it's a complete housing with top and has enough holes for what you need, it will work. I have one on my '76 L20B.

This may work. From earlier "L" motors. the sensor hole in the pic is for the temp sender. there is another larger hole on the side. The big sensor hole in your picture, does a thermal vacuum valve go in thezpVSVJG.jpgre? I will try and take a pic of the other side. The part # for 78 620 L20B is 11061-Y7000 and comes back as NLA.

Thanks for response! Mine just has another small coolant line spigot (not sure where that goes off top of my head)under the temp sensor. So 3 holes total sans the bolt holes of course. And yes the larger hole on driver side for vacuum line part. Been to odd corners of the net searching part numbers and studying pixelated pics of crusty parts lol.

Did you find the thermo housing you need?  If not, I should have a good USED one..................PM me if still needed!

PS I think the above housing is an L16...............it will not have the large threaded hole for the L20B vacuum switch, but it WILL bolt up!  It is a good way to clean up the number of threaded holes, if you are not using the vac switch etc!
