Report reply yenpit 1,831 Posted September 30, 2020 Have you ever re-installed one of these springs? I've never tried, but always thought once gone, need another hinge.....? I have a box of hinges, will look to see if I have a loose spring! TJ twostrokesmoke 0 Posted October 6, 2020 Thank you for the thought Share this comment Link to comment
Report reply Draker 16,626 Posted October 1, 2020 I’ve welded new metal to the arms. Redrilled, reinstalled arm and spring. Good as new! Share this comment Link to comment
Report reply CS310 2 Posted October 2, 2020 Hey Ted, I’m currently using one from McMaster. It’s a little light but it works ok and fits right in.. https://www.mcmaster.com/9657K702/ 1 Share this comment Link to comment
Report reply shane4x4toy 7 Posted March 7, 2021 i have completely rebuilt the hinges too, usually if a spring falls out it is because the holes and pins in that arms are so worn out they will end up jamming and binding up and require welding fabrication to repair, and yes the springs are hard to put it there is a special tool, or collapse in vice and hold with bailing wire 1 Share this comment Link to comment
