Description

Red one came off an L20b out of a 510 and the black one came off an l16 from a 620.  They look identical to me and the only discernible difference is the pickup tube from the L20b pan is slightly longer than the tube from the l16. Otherwise I assume they would fit any L4 that isn’t a 521.

$100 shipped for either of them.

Never assume. The red one is sitting higher that the black one, this would move the deepest part more towards the front very possibly interfering with the steering cross rod if used on a 620.

Assume what?  Red one came off an L20B from a 510, the black one came out off an L16 from an early 620.   I think I said that in the ad.

.............and the pic angle makes them look like they are a different length.............these two pans ARE the same length, will bolt bolt up to any 4cyl L-series, for those interested in buying!  Great price, good luck with the sale!

I was saying they don't appear to be lined up evenly. Of course they are the same length, an L16 pan will bolt to any L 4 cylinder block and even all the way up to a Z24.

620 and 510 pans. I guess the question is, will they interchange? I doubt it very much, no. Maybe could be made to fit with a hammer. They just look similar.

The 510 pan is constrained by the steering in the rear and the cross member in the front. so the center drop section for the oil pick up is crucial. The 620 only needs clearance in the front for the steering and torsion bar cross member support.

The red pan is an L16 from a 510. The L20B engine is immaterial as it only has to fit the car.

L16/18 and L10B oil pans for the 620 were all the same.
